WOULD YOU BELIEVE? A NOMINATION FOR THE RONE AWARDS

Image
To my absolute delight, I found out the other day that Banshee Seduction has been nominated for a RONE Award. Such thrilling news. Voting for the next round starts today and lasts a week, so I'd really appreciate every single vote I get for this, my paranormal dragon shape-shifter story. http://www.indtale.com/2016-rone-awards-week-one If you haven't read it and you'd like to, here's a little taster. Blurb Sweet, shy librarian Ginny has a problem. Whenever passion strikes, so do the weeping, wailing voices in her head. Being half banshee, she’s already run screaming from the underworld and her female relatives, believing love will find a way with patience and faith on planet Earth. The trouble is, humans just aren’t man enough, and every time Ginny shows interest in a male, she makes him bleed. It’s going to take more than just a simple human being to get past Ginny’s defenses. Matthew, “The Dane,” fullback for the New York Chameleons, knows the mo...

A Valentine's Day Gift

Image
So, its Saint Valentine’s Day. The one day of the year when we acknowledge how much we feel for a loved one. Roses or lilies? What’s your favourite? When I first met my husband, I was two weeks off my seventeenth birthday. He didn’t buy me flowers, he bought me a pair of white, strappy heels. I knew straight away he was the man for me, I just needed to wait until he caught up. I was nineteen when we married, and we’re married still. He was a keeper.  You should see the amount of heels I have now. Our most recent purchase was a new wardrobe for our guest bedroom. Guess what we had built into it? Yup, an entire row of shoe shelves. This is love. This is something my husband and I can show each other every day of our lives. I buy shoes, he accommodates them. He buys me flowers at any time of the year, and I buy him sweeties and make him cakes (yup, you guessed it, he’s a sweet tooth.) So what will we do for Valentine’s Day? ...

The Passage of Time

Image
As time races on, I don't feel any older, but for the fact that when I look at my children, and my animals, they seem to be maturing far faster than I'd like, which means that I too am ageing. (We'll not speak of my maturity as I'm quite sure there's still a distinct lack of it.) I'd only just had Beau for my birthday when I wrote For Heaven's Cakes and gave my hero in that story the same name as my new pup - and look at the boy now. How he's grown. Beau in reality is not so far removed from Beau in my imagination. I used a number of features, including the big paws, the soft brown eyes and the wet smell of dog in For Heaven's Cakes. Yes, he's a shapeshifter, but not a dog, a wolf. Blurb Twelve years of living in Ireland smoothed Beau’s rough edges, and hard work as a construction worker made him a wealthy man. The call of his pack is stronger than he can resist though, and he isn’t averse to returning to show his small h...

The Simple Things in Life...

Image
Okay, well this may not appear simple. It is the sweetest little building that Skye, Beau and I came across this morning on our 7.00am walk. The little front door is probably less than 3 foot high. I've never come across it before and yet I've walked the paths around Haughmond Hill for years. I just happened to step off the beaten track, which I frequently do, but this was a path I'd never been up before. There it was. Simple What is also simple, yet slightly strange is the story I'm currently writing is a paranormal. A story of witchcraft and ancient times brought into the modern day. Quite often when I'm writing a new manuscript simple things will happen, little incidents to trigger whole scenes. I'm going for a scene with this little gem and I'll let you know how it turns out. In the meantime, here's something from Banshee Seduction. This was another scene inspired by something so simple as a lady called Mandy who works in Laura Ashley...

Matthew, “The Dane,” fullback for the New York Chameleons, knows the moment he meets the little fireball that she’s his mate. For two hundred years he and his dragon have waited for a female capable of setting their world on fire. Problem is, he doesn’t seem to be able to stop her from going up in flames long enough to prove he’s more than man enough for her screaming banshee. Will Matt ever be able to convince Ginny she’s his mate? And will Ginny get Matt alone long enough to let him ap...

She squeezed it past her hips and persuaded it over her breasts inch by inch until she realized she’d forgotten to breathe and puffed out a noisy gasp. She waited for a moment, hitching in small drafts of air, and hoped the dress wouldn’t split its seams while she tried to bend at the waist to pick up the pair of shoes she had placed on the floor. She collapsed onto her bed, flat out, and wished she’d not eaten at all, never mind consuming a full plate of spaghetti and meatballs. She rubbed her belly. Sweet howling banshees, she’d probably damaged a kidney…and h...

COVER REVEAL - BANSHEE SEDUCTION, MONTGOMERY'S SIN BOOK 1

Excerpt He wondered if her skin was as smooth as it looked in the bright lights of the bathroom. He raised his hand and caressed gentle fingers over her cheek to detach a thin strand of hair from her lips. “What’s your name?” He returned his hands to her shoulders and slid both of them down the soft naked flesh of her arms to hold onto her hands and keep her from bolting, amused at the way she blinked rapidly. Her eyes sparkled unnaturally, and he knew. He just knew there was something special about her. He hadn’t figured it out yet, but he was going to. The instant attraction to her was more than just sexual, it was…protective. She took three small hitching breaths before she managed to gush out a reply. “I…I don’t know.” He caressed his thumbs on the insides of her palms to soothe her and pondered how long it would take to strip the dress off her. After all, the bathroom was empty. He chuckled as she became even more flustered, and he wondered if she could re...

Blurb Twelve years of living in Ireland smoothed Beau’s rough edges, and hard work as a construction worker made him a wealthy man. The call of his pack is stronger than he can resist though, and he isn’t averse to returning to show his small home town in America what he’s made of himself. What he doesn’t anticipate is meeting the local pharmacist’s daughter - in his wolf form. By day, he renovates the pharmacy, and tries to cajole the lush assistant into having dinner with him. By night he watches Catherine bake her fantastic creations and blossom through her art. Sleeping on her bed each night in his wolf form isn’t exactly ideal, but how does he tell her the wolf she’s come to love, is the man she lusts over? Excerpt Mrs. Timmins turned to see what had caught Catherine’s attention. Her pointed chin turned upward to meet the dip of her nose, which nearly fell into her wizened old mouth as it opened and closed. He seemed to have the same effect on all women, no...

Paranormal Kitchen Actitivites

The sharp tang of citrus coated his tongue and made him swallow in rapid succession as his mouth watered. The babe was at it again. What was she baking tonight? Would he get a chance to scoop some of the makings out of the bowl? Silent, he slipped into the kitchen, shifted into human form and studied the scene before him. Lemons, bright yellow, with a fresh zesty scent, not dissimilar to hers, only Catherine’s was overlaid with the sweet flavors of honey. Butter and sugar were all measured out as Catherine scraped the rind off the lemons adding it into the bowl and setting the mixer to beat in a loud rhythm that disguised his approach. Comfortable in his nakedness, he slipped his arms around her, snuggled her back into his chest, tucked his face into her neck and nuzzled. Nu uh, there was no better scent than Catherine. “Whatcha making?” She switched off the beaters, glanced at the almost white mixture.“Hot Lemon Pudding.” He let out a drawn out sigh of l...
