To Whet Your Appetite ... Excerpt of Under the Full Blooded Moon

Image
Kilchoan, Mainland Scotland 1672 Swathes of wet hair clung and tangled around her face in a heavy curtain, enough to obscure her view as another spasm seized her. Pain far worse than she’d ever imagined wrenched through her, and clutched deep into her belly to tear at her insides. Pride refused to allow her to cry out. As she surfaced, she snatched another lungful of air. The frigid waters chilled her to the bone, sending a fresh rash of shudders through her between each painful contraction. The villagers crowded closer, faces twisted with fear and rage. People she’d known all her life, people she loved. Women she’d tended in childbirth, and men whose wounds she’d healed. The sentiment turned vicious as the sun dipped below the horizon and the moon rose in the darkened sky. After a full day of her tied to the ducking stool, their disgust in her was palpable at not obtaining the confession they sought. How could she confess to something that wasn’t true? She’d never consorted wi...

Mother's Day Magic

Image
A message from Allyson R. Abbott. READING TO HELP A CHARITY I love to buy books as presents. I wanted to find a book that would let my mom know how much I appreciate her. As an author, I decided to write the story to say how much I love her. I told my friend what I had planned to do. Grace, also an author, wanted to do the same. We set out to write our two stories, but Grace suffers with MS and it became so bad she had to stop writing. I sent out an appeal to authors worldwide to write stories for Mother's Day, and to donate 10% of every book sold to MS. My call was answered by 13 special authors and our Mother's Day Magic box set was born. Read these beautiful stories and help stop a crippling disease––MS! Alpha's Voodoo - New Release from Haley Whitehall

Image
A warm welcome to Haley Whitehall while we celebrate the release of her newest book. I’d like to thank Diane for inviting me on her blog to celebrate my new release. Today is my book birthday for Alpha’s Voodoo. It is my first historical paranormal romance. Those of you who have read my historical romances before will not be surprised this one is interracial and takes place primarily on a steamboat. Hey, I like the water, especially in the summer. However, Alpha’s Voodoo is different because the hero is a wolf shifter and there is magic involved. Or should I say a curse? It was a lot of fun writing the paranormal elements and I’m looking forward to continuing the Bayou Pack series. Blurb: With her reputation in tatters, debutante Violet Creed is forced to exchange her life of luxury for one of uncertainty. Mark Afton wants nothing more than to take his rightful place as the leader of the Bayou Pack, but he needs a mate. Is Violet Mark’s destined mate, or is their a...

Marked for Magic - Daisy Banks - New Release

Image
Welcome to my blogspot Daisy,  Thank you so much, Diane, for helping me celebrate the release of my latest book, Marked for Magic , published by Lyrical Press , a Kensington Imprint. I decided that as palmistry was the initial inspiration for this fantasy romance I’d offer you and the readers a little something on palmistry marks. This image below shows you the main lines that can be found on a person’s palm. 1: Life line - 2: Head line - 3: Heart line - 4: Girdle of Venus - 5: Sun line - 6: Mercury line - 7: Fate line These main lines above are fairly well known, but the lesser lines are not quite so well understood and it was these I was studying when I got the idea for Marked for Magic. There is a mark some people have on their hand, a curved line on the percussive side of the palm like a kind of vertical semicircle and it can be quite large. This unusual mark is known as the line of intuition. This is said to be one of the signs someone wi...
