HIDING FROM STORM GERTRUDE?

Image
Short Circuit Time by Diane Saxon In the year 2086, Zaphira is alone, the last survivor of biological warfare on Earth. Before he died, her scientist father promised other survivors would come. Nobody has. So when a horribly mangled android shows up claiming to be her father’s assistant, Aiden, who has been sent through time to rescue her, she’s both frightened and astounded. The last time she’d seen Aiden, she’d been sixteen, head-over-heels in love with him and had literally thrown herself at him, leaving her devastated by his rejection and him running for the hills. The following day, she’d been told of his death. Eight years later he’s miraculously back, this time asking for her help. Without it, he won’t survive. But can she really put a dead man back together with tweezers? For Aiden, everything has changed. There are no other humans, no government, and time travel has left his new android body unexpectedly weak and suffering from inexplicable genetic changes in eye...

My Birthday Week Giveaways

Image
It's my birthday week and I do like to celebrate. So how about I give away a few ebooks to say thank you for wishing me a happy birthday? You choose which title you'd like and I will select a few winners each day this week.  Hiding from the horrors of her past, the last thing quiet, shy Lydia thinks she needs is a persistent cowboy who not only wants to strip away her clothes but the layers of her secrets too. I'm Joining the Ladies at Silken Sheets and Seduction

Image
What a great time it is. I've been asked to join the gorgeous ladies at Silken Sheets and Seduction where I'll have two regular blog dates every month, so I'm going to have to get a little inventive. You wouldn't think that would be difficult for an author, but I always find it much harder to write non-fiction. This week's wasn't difficult at all, though. I just spoke about the cowboy in my head. Why don't you drop by and see what I had to say? http://bit.ly/1RGOLED   In the meantime, here's an excerpt from one of my cowboy stories: From the darkened protection of the corner of the room, Flynn watched the curvy little brunette with the bubbly hair bounce around, microphone in hand, wailing her heart out with obvious enjoyment. The sight of her large rounded breasts as they jiggled merrily along with the tune heated his stomach and threatened to move lower. She’d flicked several glances in his direction, and each time she did, he sank farth...

Paranormal Kitchen Activities - Week 2 - Marble Cake

Image
"Whatcha doin'?" "Making a cake." "For me?" He leaned on the kitchen counter, rested his chin on his fist and gazed at the luscious babe intent on her creation. He could never get enough of her. Her full scrumptious lips twitched into a smile and made him want to nibble at them. "Nope." The early morning light slanted across her smooth delicate skin and made her golden eyes glow with pleasure at doing the work she loved. "What type of cake?" Her smile widened, she slid softened butter into the mixer and poured in fine sugar. "A chocolate wedding cake for a friend. Three layers, each cake different. This is the bottom layer. It's a Marble cake." "My favourite..." The harsh thrash of the beaters drowned out his voice before he could ask if he could have some. He sighed. No chance of having any of anything until she was done. His head throbbed and he wondered how she could possibly bear ...

Paranormal Kitchen Activities - Week 1 Blackcurrant Jam

Image
I love writing and the more I write, the more I love it. The characters in my head are allowed so much more freedom these days and many of the scenarios I dwell on don't actually make it to my books but they contribute to what I have learnt is "back story" or "world building. In my latest paranormal short story - more about that another day - my heroine lives in a restricted environment, where she can only dream of her own passion of cooking, baking, creating. I won't spoil the storyline but I thought I would share my heroine's back story. She has no name yet, but I hope by the time I investigate her world I may be inspired to name her. Or hopefully one of my readers will. She stripped the canes bare, gently placing the black shiny fruit into her wicker basket. She'd heard it was a good idea to use an Afro comb, run it through the stems to pop the blackcurrants off, but she preferred to use her hands. The cool shade of her house greeted her as...
