BOOK BOYFRIEND BLOG HOP
I’ve always been a really prolific reader and although
English, I read copious amounts of U.S. authors. I don’t know why I enjoy them
so much, but I do. From thrillers to romance to fantasy I really love reading
them.
One of my first discoveries, now many years ago, was Nora
Roberts. I loved the way she wrote – I still do. She can haul me in and make me
visualise her characters to such an extent that they stay with me. My favourite
of all her characters still is the first book of hers I read with my Book
Boyfriend – Cameron Quinn.
For a start, what a name. Already my heart starts to beat a
little faster. Then give the man a bad boy reputation and I’m hooked. A car
racer no less. Yummy.
Rip him away from his life of luxury, stick this poor little
rich playboy in the backwater he grew up in and give him a ten year old to
raise. Then slide the shutters open a little bit at a time, because with a book
boyfriend, they can’t just be bad. Nope. Bad is the initial appeal, but if they
aren’t filled with compassion and hidden depths, then they’re no boyfriend of
mine.
Every heartstring I have pulls and I can still pick up the
Chesapeake series of books. Each one of those heroes grabbed me, but let’s face
it I’d rather be grabbed by Cameron Quinn, in the flesh.
