The Series Expands - Atlantic Divide

With the release of my newest book in the Atlantic Divide Series, Finding Zoe, I thought I might take some time to sit back, reflect and have a little downtime. Then I realized there's no chance of downtime.

Flight of Her Life, my new romantic comedy will be released in November and I have just finished a humorous Sci-Fi which is currently being critiqued by my fellow authors Eva Lefoy and Allyson Lindt, not forgetting our faithful supporter Heather Hand. And I, in turn am critiquing their books - this is a first for me. And Flynn is calling ... Book 4

But reflect I will, if it gets me out of the housework.

I fell in love with my hero in FINDING ZOE when I met him in my first book, which remains unpublished. Mac was larger than life, funny and human and when he stepped into Bill's story, I knew he was going to gently insist on one of his own.

BAD GIRL BILL, Book 2, which was only released in July features the infamous Bill, Mac's younger sister. With a potty mouth and a serious attitude, she swaggered her way into a story and demanded the limelight. When I received the artwork for this book, I had a serious, "wow, did the artist get inside my head?" moment.

LOVING LYDIA, Book 1 of the serious has to hold a special place in my heart. Sam, my hero, was so strong and yet so gently persistent that when he weaved the story for me, I had no choice in the direction he took me. He introduced the humour, which I had not anticipated and I have him to thank in bringing that out in me.

What comes first when I create a story? – Part 2   It’s a strange thing but when I write romance, no one ever asks me what my inspiration for writing the story is. I’m not sure if that’s because they’re frightened of the answer because it might involve … shhh … sex, but I can tell you far more people are interested in your desire to kill. So I gave some thought to my inspiration to write Someone’s There (originally titled Copycat) and I can honestly say that killing off nurses has absolutely no connection to the fact that my youngest daughter is in her final year of her nursing degree. The Perfect Kiss

The Perfect kiss for me has to be the first kiss. The very first time your lips meet. Its a testing time, a tasting time. If the taste is wrong, the kiss too wet, too sloppy, too eager then the romance dies. But if the kiss is perfect - it doesn't have to be slow and sensual, it can be desperate and hungry, but it has to be perfect, then the romance is allowed to blossom and grow. Excerpt “How about a good luck kiss for a brave soul?” She held still so long that he wondered if she was going to make him look foolish. He could feel his smile waver as he held his breath and waited for her to make a move. If she would only dip her head and place her lips on his cheek, it would be a huge step forward and would save him a ribbing from the boys. Lydia raised a hand and brushed a stray hair back from her face, and then brought the same hand down to rest on his cheek, bringing her other hand up to cradle his face.
