Guest - Allyson Lindt - Conflict of Interest

I'd like to welcome my fellow author, the very talented Ms Allyson Lindt - take it away. pinkhairedgirlsIt's that time of year. Time to dress up, visit friends, and share tricks and treats. So in the spirit of how we celebrate Halloween, I'm visiting all sorts of blogs this week, in costume, as my characters, and they're talking about how they feel about the holiday. They're writing the posts, and I'm giving away the treats. No tricks. And to one random commenter on today's post, I'm giving away a copy of Diane's book, Loving Lydia (Diane didn't know this until she read my post, so, *surprise*, Diane!)

Riley (Toeing the Line)

I get to say whatever I want here? Serious? Can I draw a picture? I'd rather draw a picture to show how I feel about Halloween. And there would be a couple of sexy guys, and it's possible they wouldn't be wearing anything... Possible. But apparently, I have to talk instead. Oh well, win some, lose some. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Riley, and I have an identical twin sister. And I can tell you, Kenzie and I dealt with all the stereotypical responses growing up. And while we don't have a lot in common, neither one of us likes hearing a guy say "Twins? That's so hawt." So that's why I always embraced Halloween. The rest of the year, if I said "I don't want to took like Kenzie," people wanted to know why. But that one day a year it was all right to be someone other than my sister's twin. You'd better believe I took full advantage of it. So tell me, am I the only one who likes shedding their image for a day and just living as themselves for once? * Don't forget to visit me all week long, for a chance to meet my characters, and I'm giving away a different book every day, with a grand prize $15 gift card and a copies of my books Unconventional Fling, Conflict of Interest, and Toeing the Line at the end of the week to one commenter across all the blogs (you can earn an entry for each site you visit) October 28: Gemini Girls October 29: Shiloh Saddler October 30: Diane Saxon October 31: Eva Lefoy toeingtheline

Riley tends to fall hard and fast for the guys she dates, and it never ends with the wedding bells she expects. Tired of the heartbreak and unsure if she even knows what love is, she swears off unreliable things like dating and trying to find that elusive happily-ever-after spark. Focusing on her art seems like the perfect distraction, except she’s missing the physical side of being half a couple. Fortunately, her best friend, Zane, is happy to model for her drawings and tie her up in the bedroom with no expectations. Zane’s granddad raised him with the belief that people who bring joy to the world should be protected at all costs. For Zane, his best friend Riley is one of those people, and he definitely doesn't mind when making her happy involves helping her pursue her creative dream and some sport sex with a hint of kink. They can have fun, and he can keep her from falling for the next idiot who comes along while she searches for her Prince Charming. Regardless of her resolution, as things heat up between them, Riley finds herself falling again. She needs to decide if she’s in love with the idea of being in love, or if—despite Zane’s insistence that she deserves someone better—what she feels for him is the real thing. If she can’t learn to trust her heart and convince Zane he’s exactly what she needs, it will obliterate a lifelong friendship.
