The idea is I answer some questions - oh dear. Not being one to be pinned down, this may get a little sticky, but here goes.

What are you working on right now?

Hah, well. For anyone who has followed me on twitter you may know that I have just completed a challenge with fellow authors Eva Lefoy and Allyson Lindt. When I say completed, I am currently re-hashing some (I think they term that as editing) and hopefully will be sending it off by the end of this week. It is a skew from my normal genre, but really, when I read it back, I haven't lost my core story. It's still romance and it still has a Happy Ever After.

My other WIP, which I had to push to one side for a short while to complete the challenge is now coming along nicely. Book 4 of my Atlantic Divide series. If you've read Finding Zoe, you'll know who my next hero is. If not ... sshhh I'm not going to tell. But he's about to meet a woman who is nowhere near his match. In fact, the poor man is going to be left wondering which way to turn as my quixotic heroine has more facets than a diamond.

How does it differ from other works in its genre?

The Atlantic Divide series is contemporary romance, but since Loving Lydia, where I introduced children and inadvertently there were everyday funny moments, it seems that I was destined to use humour. I can't see why not, after all I spend most of my time laughing at quirky things, so why wouldn't it creep into my books. They are not comedy, simply real life.

Why do you write what you do?

Romance ..? I've read romance forever. I remember picking up a Wilbur Smith book (When the Lion Feeds) when I was 14 and my dad asking my mum if I was too young to read it. She told him if I was I would put it down again. I never did and I have read every single book he has written and am normally waiting for the next one. I've spent a long time waiting in the car outside dance schools and gym classes and swimming pools with a book in my hand. But, it's only recently it occurred to me that I should be writing my own stories down. Just think how many books I would have by now if I'd spent that time writing. But think also of the amount of pleasure I have had reading romance and learning the craft through these books, through all the different authors I have read and the genres that I have enjoyed.

I currently write contemporary romance, I've dipped my toes into the water with a little bit of sci-fi and I have a lovely paranormal mulling away in my grey matter. There's a really gritty thriller there too.

How does your writing process work?

I think I may have answered this one before. Basically a strong character comes into my head, he or she starts to demand my attention. I mull. I dream. I mull some more. Walk the dog. Sit. Write entire storyline - start to finish. Then I start to layer it. Other scenes may work their way in and there you go. I believe I may be referred to as a panster. But in my mind, everything is in order.

Finding Zoe is the third book in my Atlantic Divide Series and was only released on 30th September.
